Interests in architecture, physics and the natural world all seem to converge in this latest body of work, there is a sense of conveyance; a bridging between that which we make and that which we will become. I want the natural materials used in the pieces to remind us of their original purpose even as we bend them to our will. In the grand scheme, there may be some need for simplicity, even humbleness in how we build and the materials we use when we do so. I am actively asking my art to span both worlds and while doing so to bring pleasure to the beholder. Working in large scale is always exciting to me and so I see many of my pieces as scale models for public art installations.
